The Department of Turkish Language and Literature was established in 2008 under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The department admitted its first students in the 2011-2012 academic year. The department, which continues its educational activities by applying the I. Curriculum, plans to enroll an average of 50 students each year. There are five departments in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature:
Old Turkish Language
Old Turkish Literature
Turkish Folk Literature
New Turkish Language
New Turkish Literature
The aim of our department is to raise individuals who are committed to Atatürk's principles and reforms, who have humane, spiritual and cultural values, and who act upon them. In addition, our aim is to evaluate the Turkish Language and Literature texts from the beginning to the present in terms of literary, philological and folkloric aspects and to determine the place and importance of these products in the formation and development of Turkish culture. In this context, it is aimed to provide students with knowledge and skills and to train scientists, experts and teachers that the country needs in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
